WOOSTER, Ohio – Wooster-based Tahoma Enterprises, Inc is pleased to announce the hiring of Scott Biltz as Vice President Business Development. Scott’s comprehensive background in sales and operations is imperative to Tahoma’s future growth and stability. Scott brings a diverse career of sales experience and team management skills for companies in both the manufacturing and food service industries.

“We have identified the need to increase our investment in growing our customer base and target markets. Now that we have completed the consolidation of Tahoma Engineered Solutions in our Ashland, OH facility and invested in significant cost reduction manufacturing applications at Tahoma Rubber & Plastics we have a very solid base to provide services and solutions to our customers,” offers company CEO, Steve Strouse.

Scott as the VP Business Development reports to the CEO Tahoma Enterprises, Inc. The position is responsible for managing the strategic business development process, including sales revenue growth, customer profitability, and product line profitability. A matrix organization structure will be used to guide and direct business unit general managers, product line managers, and sales representatives in the achievement of goals.

Previously he held positions in sales, business development, operations, training, and human resource management at The Timken Company in Canton, OH. Most recently he was the COO and Vice President at Troyer Cheese, Inc. and Lipari Foods in Millersburg, OH.

Scott received a bachelor’s degree in marketing and business management from Ashland University and a master’s degree in business administration from Baker University. He also is a graduate of the Executive Development for Global Excellence program at the University of Virginia Darden School of Business. Scott is a Board Member of the Wilderness Center in Wilmot and very active in The Boy Scouts of America. Scott and his wife Melissa have four children and live in Millersburg, Ohio.

Tahoma Engineered Solutions Completes a Remodeling  Initiative Aimed at Improving Customer Response Time

ASHLAND, Ohio — Tahoma Engineered Solutions today announced a major remodeling investment at their Ashland facility. The $50,000+ building remodel includes an Assembly Lab, Tool Room, Quality Control Lab and a dedicated Fabrication Department.

According to Brian Seman, Operations Manager at Tahoma Engineered Solutions, “With our customers’ requests for short lead times for quality parts, our Tool Room Manager and Quality Coordinator responded and now we are able to finish production on one job and have the next job set up and running production on a “first article” inspected and “verified” part in as short of time as possible. We also have control over our inventory of cutting tools by maintaining a stocking system within the tool room. On the quality side of this, we are able to manage our gauges within the building and preserve our gauge calibration schedule as part of ISO to assure our customers that their tolerances are being met. The assembly lab gives provides a clean, organized area to assemble and test our customers products prior to shipment.”

With the demand for formed metal parts and welded assemblies growing, TES saw the need to have a specific area where skilled welders and fabricators could work. We dedicated a portion of the building as our fabrication department and equipped it with skilled, certified welders in MIG, TIG and Stick. The fabrication shop includes engineering and design; cutting and forming; machining and inspecting; coating and painting; and assembling and testing.

ASHLAND, Ohio — Tahoma Engineered Solutions announces a successful relocation to their new Ashland manufacturing plant.

The company relocated the former Progress Wire Company from Cleveland; the former Tahoma Machining from Barberton; the former Wayne Machine from Wooster and MP Technologies of Brecksville. This collective business unit will be called Tahoma Engineered Solutions. Tahoma Engineered Solutions employs 100+ with capabilities in formed wire, precision machining, large fluid block machining and engineered process automation solutions.

The move has strengthened the team’s effort required to satisfy customers. Being under one roof offers employees more opportunities, better cross training and improved efficiency. The move also allowed the team to design and build improved process flows throughout the building. Now a single management team can support a multitude of manufacturing activities.

Tahoma Engineered Solutions Announces Increased Formed Wire Capabilities

ASHLAND, Ohio — Tahoma Engineered Solutions announces increased capability in their formed wire product line to better serve customers.
“Throughout the year we have added new capabilities,” according to Sales Executive Jamie Buckley. Buckley continues, “In January, we added another 8mm CNC wire forming machine to increase our capacity to service the steel fabricated wire market and we just upgraded our ERP software and server hardware, so our manufacturing software system is faster and more reliable.”

In January of 2019, TES will upgrade the controls of a CNC wire mesh machine, which will increase their capacity and productivity. This will improve lead-time for their customers.
